I had an excellent initial experience dealing with the team over the telephone and via email.  I met Will face to face at the office to discuss my retirement planning.

I had the pleasure of a teams call today with Johanna to discuss the possibility of partial retirement for myself.   Johanna was so helpful and explained my pension forecast in terms that I could understand. NICS are not very helpful in providing this information.  I would highly recommend to anyone especially if you are employed by the NICS.  Johanna also had a look at my husbands circumstances regarding his pension. I had little understanding of the Pension process before my meeting but Johanna explained everything in 'plain English' so that I had a much greater understanding and re assured as to going forward.  Johanna was also very well prepared so it is a great idea to provide consultant with as much information prior to meeting. I attended a pre-retirement webinar which gave lots of information about how pensions work and how to plan your options in retirement. At the end there was an opportunity to apply for a free discussion with a financial planner. I took up this offer and was asked to send my pension statement and complete an income and expenditure form.

It was arranged that I would have a call with Johanna. The call was great Johanna covered all my questions expertly putting my mind at ease over my fears of how I would manage my finances in retirement. Johanna give me several options with a full financial breakdown. This has given me such relief and food for thought. Most importantly this has given me options. She is a complete professional who really knows her stuff. She helped me assess my personal situation, used vocabulary I could understand and gave me sound advice. I am a teacher and intend to retire at the end of this academic year. I was able to book a free consultation with Platinum Financial Planning through my UTU membership. I have been investing with Platinum Financial Planning since 2015.  The advice received has been clear and impartial and no question has ever been unanswered!  Explanations are always clear and in plain english. Nothing is too much trouble and time is always taken to ensure that I fully understand how my investments are performing, reasons why they might not be doing as well as in the past and what action can be taken to maximise performance in the current financial climate.

Time is also taken to confirm what my current needs are and how likely I am to want to withdraw funds in the near future.
